La Borromea is an intense, adventurous IPA with a straw-blonde color and a compact head inspired by the wooded trails of the Cannobina Valley. Resinous and herbal hop notes stand out on the nose. Dry and vibrant on the palate, its 6% alcohol supports a marked but balanced bitterness. A light malt body leaves room for the hops, while lively carbonation enhances freshness. The finish is bitter and persistent, with resinous and herbal notes that invite another sip.

Via Borromea, the trail that inspires our beer
The Via Borromea is the ancient mule track that Saint Charles Borromeo travelled in 1574, a 28-kilometre route connecting the Sanctuary of the Pietà in Cannobio to the Sanctuary of Re, in Val Vigezzo, crossing forests, streams and ancient votive chapels that still preserve the memory of that journey today. Via Borromea, the trail that inspires our beer
Our Borromea is inspired by this ancient route, where every step tells a story of devotion and resilience, and where the landscape constantly changes between forests, streams and views that suddenly open onto the valley.
Just as pilgrims once faced a long and demanding journey to reach their destination, our IPA was born from an idea similar to the one that, two hundred years ago, led English brewers to load their ships bound for India: creating a beer capable of enduring the journey by increasing the amount of hops to preserve it over seemingly endless distances. Our Borromea brings that same philosophy into the glass, with an intense character and generous hopping that define its body and persistence.
The connection with the Via Borromea is more than symbolic: it is a tribute to a route that has crossed centuries of history, faith and culture, leaving traces carved into the very rock of the mountain. Just as the trail leads travellers from one Sanctuary to another through effort and discovery, our Borromea takes the palate on an aromatic journey of resinous and herbal notes, giving every sip the energy of a journey worth following all the way to the end.
